Gypsy at The Mill at Sonning
Over 80 members enjoyed a matinee performance of the musical 'Gypsy' with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim suggested by the memoirs of the real Gypsy Rose Lee. With a large cast headed by Daniel Crowder (Herbie), Evelyn Hoskins (Louise) and Rebecca Thornhill (as Rose the pushy mother of Louise), the performance moved at pace and included many well-known tunes such as 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' and 'Let Me Entertain You'.
Putting on a large-scale musical such as this in a small theatre like The Mill is an achievement in its own right and the whole production and musical team at The Mill should be congratulated!
