An evening of romantic music by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall
52 members enjoyed an evening of romantic music from the opera, classics and popular genres at the Orchestral Valentines concert performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall.
Featuring music from The Sleeping Beauty (Tchaikovsky), Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet and Elgar's Salut d'amour, the programme also included popular themes from 'Out of Africa' and the lyrical Lara's Theme from Dr Zhivago.
A high point of the evening was the performance of two solo piano pieces by the young Ukrainian pianist Dinara Klinton.
She performed the second movement of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 2, as well as the Romanze movement from Chopin's Piano Concerto No: 1.
As an encore, the orchestra played the ever-popular 'Moon River' which was a hit for Andy Williams back in the 1950s.
Overall, another very enjoyable event for RSTC members.
